With over two decades of experience carrying a firearm professionally, Matt brings a deep background in military and law enforcement service to the firearms training community. Matt has served 12 years in the United States Army, where he developed a strong foundation in weapons handling, discipline, and tactical operations.

Following his military service, he transitioned into civilian law enforcement and has spent the past 7 years as a police officer. He began his law enforcement career with a small agency, gaining valuable frontline experience, and is now proudly employed by a large department in Kansas.

Currently, he serves as a full-time firearms instructor for one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the Midwest. In this role, he trains officers in foundational and advanced firearms skills, helping to ensure operational readiness and safety across the department. His career has been dedicated to the responsible use of firearms in professional settings and is committed to equipping others with the skills and mindset needed to perform at the highest level.

Corey is a seasoned law enforcement professional with over two decades of dedicated service since beginning his career in 2003. With a strong foundation in tactical training and public safety, Corey has served as a certified firearms instructor for more than 15 years, sharing his expertise to train and mentor fellow officers. He also brings over 15 years of experience as a skilled armorer, ensuring the operational readiness and safety of law enforcement equipment. He is a use-of-force subject matter expert and a certified less lethal instructor.

Corey holds a master’s degree, underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. He is also completed the prestigious FBI-LEEDA Trilogy program, which emphasizes leadership excellence in law enforcement.

Known for his discipline, technical knowledge, and leadership, Corey Herl continues to contribute meaningfully to the law enforcement community through training, mentorship, and operational excellence.
